Anne Swisse, OTR/L
I'm Anne Swisse, an occupational therapist who loves helping kids build the skills they need to feel confident and successful in their everyday lives. I especially enjoy working with school-aged children with autism, sensory needs, building executive functioning skills like planning, organization, and time management, self-regulation and coping skills. My sessions are family-centered, play-based, and child-led, so therapy feels fun while we work on the tasks that matter most at home and at school.

What Families Can Expect
Many of the families I meet have already tried home remedies, searched online, taken advice from friends and relatives, or worked with other therapists. Some have spent months on waitlists, found that school services aren't enough, or been handed home programs that just don't fit into real family life. By the time they arrive, they're often tired of temporary fixes and appointments that haven't led anywhere.
You may have just heard a new diagnosis from your pediatrician, or you've noticed your child doing things differently from their peers. It's natural to wonder what the future looks like for your child and your family. I believe parents know their kids better than anyone, and I'll work alongside you to build a plan that fits your goals, routines, values, and lifestyle.

My Approach
Our first session together is calm and relaxed. We'll take time to get to know each other, talk through your family's priorities, and start working toward goals using play built around your child's interests.
Kids are so motivated to learn new skills, and I love helping them get there. Families tell me they appreciate the positivity, flexibility, and encouragement I bring to every session, along with genuine care for their concerns and goals.

The Moments That Matter Most
Some of my favorite successes are the small victories in daily routines that keep building over time.
It's hearing:
-
"He tried a new food at dinner!"
-
"Switching activities isn't a battle anymore."
-
"She brushed her teeth without a fight."
Those are the moments that tell me therapy is working.

A Little Outside the Clinic
Originally from Montana, I now call Bismarck home. When I'm not in the clinic, you'll usually find me cooking, baking, reading, hiking, fishing, or trying out a new coffee shop. I love to travel, and I'm a huge dog lover!
